Direct sampling from 100 MHz to 36 GHz

Jariet Technologies is a fabless semiconductor company that was founded to develop world-leading RF-sampling data converter and RF transceiver ICs. The company specialises in designing ultra-high-speed data converters and RF transceivers in advanced geometry process nodes, with very low power. Its ICs are often utilised in advanced receive and transmit hardware found in electronic warfare, RADAR, satellite payloads, satellite ground stations, 5G/6G communications, optical systems, quantum computing, and test equipment.

Satellite applications

Jariet is leading the way in direct RF-sampling of satellite bands from VHF to Ka. The integrated ultra-high speed ADCs, DACs, and PLL/VCOs provide the range and bandwidth necessary to cover more bands than any other approach in a single chip. The technology can be configured with a common internally generated clock rate frequency for both ADC and DAC to receive the uplink band (~30 GHz), while transmitting in the downlink band (~20 GHz) in full duplex and multi-channel. With support for RF signals down to 100 MHz, many other satellite bands can be supported for telemetry, navigation and communications.

The integrated digital front-end provides the necessary up/down conversion to produce a manageable IQ interface rate to the baseband FPGA. By reconfiguring the digital front-end, bandwidths and carrier bands can be adjusted in milliseconds.

Unprecedented ADC/DAC performance, speed, and integration provide sampling of frequencies from 100 MHz up to 36 GHz at 64 GSPS. Moving the sampling to the antenna frequency, and replacing the conventional RF components with ultra-high-speed ADCs and DACs for the conversion and filtering operations, provides many benefits including a reduction in size, weight, power, and cost. This also increases the flexibility of the circuit with a true software-defined radio module that enables ultra-wide, multi-functions, and multi-band signal capture and generation.
