In response to demand from an expanding end user base, Motorola has launched a 16-channel P040 portable two-way radio to replace its existing 4-channel model. The company says the enhanced radio offers all the features of the existing model, superior audio quality, programmable buttons and more channels - at the same price.
Users will now benefit from a professional radio that enables them to extend communications to even more work groups, so they can streamline operations more effectively. "The new P040 offers Motorola's unique X-Pand audio compression technology, providing crisp, clear communication in noisy environments and its ergonomic design ensures ease of use," says Suzaan Sauerman, marketing manager for Motorola CGISS, Middle East and Africa.
Designed to withstand Motorola's exacting Accelerated Life Testing, which typifies five years' hard use in the field, the radios are able to withstand harsh work environments such as construction sites and airports. The voice operated (VOX) feature enables hands-free operation, which is important in industries such as manufacturing and security and the compact, lightweight design makes them ideal for the hospitality and leisure industries.
LED displays indicate which features are active and scanning allows activity on different communication channels to be monitored and answered, ensuring that critical calls are received.
The enhanced P040 is available from Motorola's nationwide authorised dealer network, which can be found at www.alcom.co.za
