LoRAWAN module

31 January 2018 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

The RHF76-052 is a LoRAWAN modem developed and designed by EMC Technologies. Featuring low power consumption, low cost, wide coverage and low complexity, it is well suited for data collection for large-scale Internet of Things designs. The LoRaWAN protocol stack is built into the module and it supports the AT command instruction set.

By utilising the LoRa network, the device helps to solve the high cost, gateway deployment and other problems affecting a traditional GPRS network. With LoRa technology, enterprises can set up their own networks to completely avoid the traffic costs of operators and greatly reduce the cost of networking.

The modem supports dual-band 433 / 470 MHz and 868 / 915 MHz communication, with up to 72 uplink channels (64 channels with 125 kHz bandwidth and 8 channels with 500 kHz bandwidth). It can handle full-duplex LoRaWAN gateway communication as well as LoRa point-to-point communication, as well as RSSI detection. In sleep mode, current consumption is cut to just 1,45 μA.
