Spinner has extended its development activities for third generation mobile communication applications. Since it is becoming increasingly difficult to find locations for antenna masts, service providers are forced to co-locate with each other. That means that all frequencies for mobile communication systems are jointly transmitted via broadband antenna systems installed on existing transmitter masts. These antenna systems need to be fed via multiplexer systems with as few cables as possible.
Spinner has a long tradition of supplying passive components for use between the BTS output and antenna input. It delivers complete, fine-tuned turnkey systems as well as individual components. The diplexer offered combines the frequencies of GSM900 (800 through 1000 MHz) at port 1 and GSM1800 + UMTS (1710 through 2170 MHz) at port 2 and directs them to the antenna via a feeder cable. In the reverse direction it splits the signals arriving at port 3 into the two frequency ranges. The diplexer is made up of two stop-band filters using strip line technology. Both branches are suited for DC power feeding to amplifiers which may be mounted directly before the antenna. Outdoor installation accessories are available for the diplexer.
