Integrated Device Technology (IDT), has expanded its clock management portfolio with a new clock generator family suited for the frequency requirements of high-performance communications and networking applications. The devices generate specific clock frequencies for applications that include Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel. The family is comprised of three clock generators: a device with a single output and reference clock output, a device with four outputs and a device with eight outputs, all of which support output frequency ranges from 50-160 MHz and input frequency ranges from 6,25-80 MHz. These clock generators are uniquely equipped with multiple outputs that allow designers to use the generator as a clock source for multiple sets of devices. They have low jitter, and permit multiplication of the base frequency input by 2, 3, 4, 4.25, 5, 6, 6,25 and 8. Being space-efficient they are a cost-effective solution compared with dedicated crystal oscillators. The IDT5V926 and IDT5V927 are available in a 16-pin TSSOP package, while the IDT5V928 is available in a 24-pin TSSOP package.
