Taoglas has unveiled three new antennas for GPS/GLONASS applications.
FXP.611 Cloud.
The FXP.611 Cloud is a flexible loop antenna that outperforms many active patch antennas with an efficiency of 80% and a peak gain of 3 dBi across the GPS and GLONASS bands (1575 to 1610 MHz).
This antenna has the ability to resist external detuning effects due to dual resonance and has a small form factor of 38 x 37 x 0,1 mm. At less than half the cost of heavy active patch antennas, this peel-and-stick is suitable for any GPS/GLONASS M2M device.
The FXP.611 Cloud eliminates the need for a filter or low noise amplifier (LNA) and so can connect directly to a module or to a connector on a board. It radiates power uniformly with an omnidirectional design, making it suitable for use in devices that have fixed positions.
Ulysses AA.162.
The Ulysses AA.162 is a low-profile miniature magnet GNSS antenna (only 10 mm in height) for applications which require high positioning accuracy by combining signals from GPS and GLONASS systems.
A high-gain wideband patch antenna on an integral ground delivers reliable performance and fully IP67 waterproof rating allows use in outdoors environments. A front-end SAW filter configuration eliminates potential LNA burn-out from nearby out-of-band radiated power bursts from other antennas that may be co-located nearby.
Finally, the Dominator AA.161 is also a combined GPS/GLONASS magnet mount antenna which incorporates high-gain wideband 35 mm patch antenna technology on a large integral ground plane. It delivers maximum performance at GPS and GLONASS centre frequencies by using a new double resonance design. This antenna has a wide input voltage range of 1,8 V to 5,5 V in an IP67 housing.
As with the Ulysses AA.162, an exclusive in-house developed wideband front-end SAW reduces out-of-band noise. According to Taoglas, the Dominator AA.161 has been rated and benchmarked by the leading GPS/GLONASS receiver module and chipset companies as best in industry.
The Dominator AA.161 and Ulysses AA.162 are manufactured to strict first tier automotive quality controlled manufacturing processes in a TS16949 approved facility.
