Available as either an evaluation kit or a complete reference design, u-blox’ C16-G25Q turnkey telematics solution is designed and optimised for fleet management, asset tracking, navigation, road pricing and security/surveillance applications.
This 100% SMD solution incorporates the u-blox LEON GSM/GPRS module and NEO GPS receiver module together with Taoglas SMD antennas and all passives. The innovative design implements a compact SMD SIM chip with activated telephone number from Giesecke & Devrient providing secure wireless communications to the Jasper Control Centre.
The reference design supports full access to the NEO-5Q GPS module via the LEON-G200 module. Thus, GSM and GPS can be controlled through a single serial port from any host processor. LEON-G200 features quad band GSM/GPRS data, voice and class 10 data transmission. The high-performance u-blox 5 GPS engine enables navigation even in weak signal environments.
Devices based on the C16 reference design deliver transparent GPS data combined with global communications to support a wide range of out-of-the-box telematics applications.
