New M2M antenna ranges

20 January 2010 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

Taoglas recently unveiled three new antenna ranges for the automotive, security, metering and industrial device markets.

The first addition is a single LTE and WiMax ultra-wideband antenna solution optimised for the telematics, metering and security markets. These include embedded and external antenna solutions.

Also new are 4,9–5,9 GHz WiMAX/WiBro base station antennas with suppressed upper side lobes. Upper side lobes are the prime contributor to interference in any wireless network – they decrease signal-to-interference ratio, degrading network quality, in particular speed and capacity. Taoglas implemented an advanced electrical design technique using tapered feed distribution to suppress upper side lobes and optimise the radiation pattern.

Finally, Taoglas introduced the ILA.01, an ISM-band ceramic loop antenna at 915 MHz, measuring 10 x 3,2 x 0,6 mm. It also launched a low-profile, onboard 2,4 GHz ceramic loop antenna measuring 3,2 x 1,6 x 0,6 mm – the WLA.01. The range also includes the GLA.01 GPS loop antenna measuring 5 x 1,3 x 0,6 mm.
