Simcom’s SIM548C module is a quad-band GSM/GPRS enabled, compact plug-in module that is also equipped with GPS technology for satellite navigation.
Featuring an industry-standard interface and GPS function, the combination of both technologies allows goods, vehicles and people to be tracked at any location at any time.
The module features GPRS class 8/10 capability with maximum downstream data transfer of 85,6 Kbps, and has integrated TCP/IP and PPP protocol stacks. The module is controlled via AT commands and operates from a supply range of 3,4 to 4,5 V. GPS capabilities include time to first fix of 1 second from a hot start, or 42 seconds from a cold start, as well as support for AGPS.
The module has an interface to external SIM, as well as an embedded SIM card holder. Other interfaces include dual analog audio, LCD, RTC backup, charge interface, serial and debug interfaces for GSM/GPRS, dual serial interface for GPS, and two separate antenna connectors for GSM/GPRS and GPS, as well as an antenna pad for each.
