Agilent has introduced new thermocouple power sensors that offer excellent dynamic range in average-power measurements. As an enhanced replacement for the Agilent 8480 series, the new sensors cover a power range of
-35 dBm to +20 dBm and span a frequency range of 100 kHz to 33 GHz.
By extending the power range down to -35 dBm, the N8480 series provides a 55 dB dynamic range in a single sensor. Measurement speed and repeatability at low power levels have also been improved. Each member of the series has been optimised for a specific frequency range, while offering high measurement accuracy with excellent power linearity.
The sensors incorporate a built-in EEPROM for storing calibration factors. This feature enables automatic loading of calibration factors, reducing manual input errors and increasing productivity. An optional calibration-factor table enables manual entry of calibration factors.
The N8481A covers the range from 10 MHz to 18 GHz, the N8482A from 100 kHz to 6 GHz and the N8485A from 10 MHz to 26,5 GHz or from 10 MHz to 33 GHz.
