Low-power short-haul 14-channel T1/E1/JI LIU released

Exar has added an advanced, 14-channel short haul line interface unit (LIU) to its scalable T/E LIU portfolio. This device has also been designed into Telrad Networks' multiservices access platform and for the AMC CES/EoPDH portfolios.

The XRT83VSH314 implements internal termination that allows the same design to operate in T1, E1, or J1 modes independently on a per channel basis with minimum external components. The device targets varied applications including access devices, media gateways, routers, and frame relay devices.

The XRT83VSH314 meets or exceeds popular telecom specifications such as ITU G.703, G.775, and ANSI T1.402. and Bellcore GR-499 core. It contains a crystal-less jitter attenuator for each channel that can be configured in the transmit or the receive direction. Also, because of their inherent flexibility and standards compliance, the LIUs can be used in conjunction with any of Exar's market proven T1/E1/J1 framers.

Additionally, the T1/E1/J1 short haul and clock rates are per port selectable through software without changing components. The device can perform internal impedance matching on both receive and transmit for E1, T1, J1, and 120O (E1) applications. The impedance matching is selectable per port through software without changing components.

The XRT83VSH314 is available in a 304-pin PBGA package and operates at 1,8 V, 3,3 V with 5 V tolerant I/Os over the industrial temperature range.
