Link up RS serial connections via low cost wireless links

Satel's Satelline 1870 has been available in the marketplace for more than three years providing both RS232 and I/O communication on a point-to-point and multipoint basis. Now with the company's RS-Link, the 1870 has the ability to provide a full RS communication including RS422 and RS485 communications.

The RS link plugs directly into the bottom of the 1870, eliminating any cabling issues and connection diagrams. From there, distances of up to 3 km can be achieved, effective when weighing up the cost comparison against installing cabling for these applications. Furthermore, the user then has the ability to remain mobile and not have the problems of wear and tear due to harsh exposure which cables may have.

Power supply for the RS Link is provided directly from the Satelline 1870 which uses standard 9-30 V d.c. consumption.
