A new family of surface-mount magnetic modules for T1/E1 applications from Pulse integrates both the isolation transformers and common mode chokes into a package with the same footprint as discrete transformer-only products. The T1207 and T1220 devices, which are aimed at digital line card and switching applications, optimise board layout by allowing more functionality in the same space.
The dual surface-mount package is optimised for applications such as multiplexers, wide area networks (WANs), internet-working interfaces, digital access and cross connect systems (DACS), channel banks and cellular basestations.
The new modules provide superior common-mode filtering for EMI reduction. Furthermore, their integrated chokes and isolation magnetics save space and enable shorter PCB tracks in space-limited T1/E1 board designs.
Packaged in a 17,1 x 15,2 x 8,6 mm SMT module, the devices use Pulse's patented InterLock base construction to guarantee reliable placement and operation of sub-components. The T1207 and T1220 are available in tubes or tape and reel packaging, and are compatible with most high-speed pick-and-place equipment.
