Data communications - fixed and mobile

9 August 2006 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

Often found to be a stumbling block, 'data communications' has limitations on both movement and distance. Developments in mobile and fixed wireless systems have now given users the opportunity to communicate in the same fashion as a cellular phone, and now ideally suitable for industrial applications.

Limitations are also no longer an issue as there are various frequencies available that are suited to different distances and applications. These include UHF, VHF, 2,4 GHz, 1,9 GHz Dect, 900 MHz GSM amongst others.

Integrate & Autom8 now has available solutions suited to industrial applications for all these frequencies and protocols for virtually every wireless requirement. Local distributors for Satel, Schildknecht Elektronik's Dataeagle and Artem, the company not only has the knowledge of systems and solutions, but also the products to suit these applications.

What can be communicated wirelessly?

* I/O - analog and digital and pulse count.

* RS232, RS422 and RS485.

* Profibus, Profisafe and MPI/PPI.

* Industrial Ethernet and Profinet.

* Modbus.

* All industrial PLC systems.

* Alarm signals.

The abovementioned system protocols are already in operation in South Africa, using Integrate & Autom8's product portfolio. These units are directly suited to all industrial applications from the food and beverage industries to steel, all the way through to applications for rail.
