Simply offering a standard antenna leaves the customer with the task of matching the relevant design characteristics to the antenna, PCB size, antenna position, feed position etc.

Change anything and the performance changes. Murata's solution is to offer the design engineer nine standard versions with centre frequencies from 2730 to 3880 GHz, plus detailed information on the performance of each under various conditions. This answers a range of questions and minimises the work of achieving optimum performance in a minimum of time.

Murata offers a free technical manual for its LDA31 series that graphically describes how its measurements are made; the best possible position on the PCB; the best direction of the feed with respect to that position; structure and positioning of the matching circuit and more. It even includes details of suitable matching circuits for particular antennas' layouts and positions.

The complete series is offered in the common 1206 (3,2 x 1,6 mm) format with a maximum height of 1,4 mm.
