The NAVI-XS from Falcom is a GPS receiver integrated with Bluetooth technology. The NAVI-XS based on 0,13 μm CMOS process of the SiRFstarIIx - GSC2x - architecture, is a single-box solution with 12 parallel channel receiver, which offers SiRFstarII class performance.
With its integral housing, compact design, very-low power consumption, and ease-of-use, it offers high quality, performance and features. It is a navigational and positioning device that allows you to receive GPS data wirelessly on any Bluetooth-enabled device such as smartphones, PDAs and portable computers. The NAVI-XS provides accurate positioning and, in combination with mapping software, can locate position with ease and accuracy anywhere in the world, according to the manufacturer.
The 66 x 46 x 20 mm Bluetooth GPS receiver is among the smallest available on the market. With embedded high-sensitivity internal GPS and Bluetooth antenna it allows one to navigate freely without the complication of messy wire connections. It is powered by two AAA rechargeable and replaceable batteries, offering up to six hours of continuous use without extra power.
Falcom also offers a variation in the form of the NAVI-XS POI, intended to be used as a navigation system and to notify drivers when approaching within a certain radius of certain points-of-interest (POI). If points are stored in the unit that contain the longitude and latitude, the NAVI-XS POI starts monitoring the current driving position and checks whether you approach one of the points of interest from one of the points it has found. When a stored point of interest is approached, it informs by generating period audio signals.
