2,4-2,5 GHZ dish antennas

8 November 2000 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

Poynting Innovations has launched a new 2,4-2,5 GHz antenna that is ideal for use between two wireless networks or for point-to-point communications in a wireless LAN. The antenna consists of a parabolic reflector and feed. The LANPoynt feed fits on a standard ku-band offset parabolic dish, which makes it extremely cost effective. (Poynting supplies the feed with a dish as standard but the feed can also be bought separately.)

The dishes are available in three configurations, a 60, 90 or 110 cm. The gain of these antennas at 2,45 GHz is 20,5, 25 and 26 dBi respectively, and the VSWR is less than 1,5:1 over the band. The dish comes with mounting bracket and 50 W cable terminated in a N-type connector (female).

Poynting says the antennas are easy to assemble and the ready-to-connect clamps and wing nuts can mount on pipes between 20-55 mm diameter or a flat surface. Feed power handling is 100 W, polarisation is linear (vertical or horizontal by rotation of feed), and the dishes weigh 1,73, 4,6 and 7,2 kg for the 60, 90 and 110 cm types respectively.
