Webb supplies communications system to hospital in Gambia

Webb Industries has supplied a cellphone communications system to a hospital in Gambia. The hospital, which is located in Bwaim, some 150 km inland from Banjul, the capital of Gambia, needed cellphone reception throughout the buildings and its surroundings.

Siemens contracted Webb Industries to provide all the necessary cables, connectors, lightning protection, antennas as well as its unique MIKOM repeater to provide cellphone reception within the designated areas.

Webb Industries is an acknowledged leader for the supply of cellphone communications systems to remote sites and has recently completed major projects in inaccessible areas where communication has previously proved impossible. With its MIKOM repeater equipment, the company has made major breakthroughs to provide cellphone reception where it was not previously considered possible and over longer distances than in the past. The system consists of one repeater that receives a signal from the BTS site and re-broadcasts to the new hospital and surrounding areas.
