Bluegiga Technologies has announced the availability of the new WF111 and WF121 for embedded applications requiring reliable Wi-Fi connectivity.
They can be utilised in various professional applications demanding small size, standalone, long-range Wi-Fi connectivity, such as point of sale, automotive aftermarket, eHealth/medical, industrial, metering, audio and many others.
The WF121 is a standalone module providing fully integrated 2,4 GHz band 802.11 b/g/n radio and IP stack. It is designed for embedded applications requiring simple, low-cost and low-power wireless TCP/IP connectivity, also providing flexible interfaces for connecting with various peripherals. The module also allows end user applications to be embedded onto the module using a simple Bluegiga BGScript scripting language.
The WF121 comes with Bluegiga Wi-Fi software, which is an embedded implementation of 802.11 MAC and TCP/IP software. It exposes a powerful yet easy-to-use Bluegiga command interface to manage connectivity functions such as access point discovery, associations and connection establishment – hiding the complexity of Wi-Fi operations from the end user. In order to simplify and speed up the development, Bluegiga Wi-Fi software also includes libraries for various hosts systems in source code format.
The WF111 module is a fully integrated single 2,4 GHz band 802.11 b/g/n module, providing a low cost and small size Wi-Fi solution for devices that run Linux operating system on ARM or x86 processor having SDIO interface. It offers the benefits of a carefully optimised RF module i.e., small size with high performance, even over 500 metre range with line of sight.
