The Quectel FCM266D addresses these needs with a compact MCU-based Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module designed for cost-sensitive applications demanding low latency, fast command response, and reliable wireless performance.
At its core, FCM266D combines single-band 2,4 GHz Wi-Fi 6 with Bluetooth LE 5.4 in an ultra-compact LCC package measuring just 20 x 18 x 2,4 mm and weighing approximately 1,23 g. This small footprint makes it particularly suitable for space-constrained IoT designs, such as smart building systems, connected appliances, and industrial monitoring nodes.
The module is powered by an ARMv8-M Star MCU running at up to 240 MHz and includes 640 kB SRAM and 4 MB of onboard flash memory. Under the QuecOpen solution, developers gain access to up to 21 GPIOs and a wide range of interfaces, including UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, and PWM, while SDIO support expands integration options further.
Wireless provisioning is simplified through Bluetooth-assisted Wi-Fi setup, while flexible antenna configurations, including RF coaxial, pin antenna, and optional PCB antenna support, accommodate varying product requirements.
Security is also prioritised, with support for WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, and WPA3-SAE, alongside TRNG and hardware encryption algorithms including AES, RSA, SHA, and ECC. Combined with low-power modes and keep-alive mechanisms, FCM266D is well suited to smart locks, energy monitoring, smart metering, and remote industrial applications.
