Resettable fuses for 90 V operation

27 March 2002 Circuit & System Protection

Bourns has added the 90 V family to its Multifuse product line - part numbers MF-R055/90, MF-R055/90U, and MF-R075/90U. The 90 V series was introduced to meet applications that need to handle up to 90 V continuously.

This 90 V product provides resettable overcurrent protection for telephony applications including power passing taps, network interface units (NIUs) and set top boxes. The 90 V device is made of a unique conductive polymer that exhibits a positive PTC effect, which responds to increases in current by changing from a very low resistance state to a very high resistance state. This positive PTC effect provides overcurrent protection in circuits that operate in up to 90 V continuous.

The 90 V family is available in radial coated and uncoated devices, with kinked or straight leads. Packaging is available in bulk, ammo pack, or tape and reel.
