WiSoL’s range of SigFox modules includes two variants that offer alternatives for either SigFox-only operation or more advanced quad-mode functionality.
The Sigfox-only SFM10R1 model is a miniaturised module (13,0 x 15,0 x 2,21 mm) for Zone1 (Europe, Oman). It has an integrated microcontroller (MCU) as well as an integrated RF transceiver and supports UART for external communication. A temperature controlled crystal oscillator (TCXO) is used on the module to maintain the frequency tolerance for operational bands throughout the product’s life.
The WSSFM10R1 is supplied from a 1,8 to 3,6 V voltage and consumes 54 mA in transmit mode and 15 mA for reception, with idle mode current consumption of just 2 A. It provides maximum radiated power of +14 dBm and receiver sensitivity of -127 dBm.
For more advanced requirements, the WSSFM20 series further integrates Wi-Fi, Bluetooth low energy (BLE) and GPS functionality as well as an accelerometer. Each connectivity engine acts as a standalone module and the main host ARM Cortex-M4 core controls each module through an API integrated via a single, simple software development kit.
The WSSFM20 is supplied from a 3,2 to 5 V voltage and consumes 62 mA in transmit mode and 16 mA for reception, with idle mode current consumption of 2 A. It measures 21,0 x 29,0 x 2,3 mm.
