Vectron’s VX–706 is a new discrete voltage controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO) in a 5 x 7 mm footprint with improved phase noise and jitter performance previously only available in the VX-501’s 9 x 14 mm package. These enhancements address market requirements for VCXOs to meet performance specifications and deliver it in smaller package sizes, as board layouts become increasingly dense.
Aimed at applications like industrial, synthesisers, test and measurement, and military, the device features an AT-cut crystal in a surface mounting FR4-based (single layer) package that is reflow process compatible. It boasts tight stability for the 40 – 200 MHz frequency range, with standard values of 61,44 MHz, 100 MHz, 122,88 MHz, 153,6 MHz and 200 MHz. Phase noise is -72 dBc/Hz (10 Hz) with a floor of -166 dBc/Hz.
The VX–706 accepts a supply voltage of 3,3 V or 5,0 V, and has HCMOS and PECL outputs.
