The SM24CANA TVS diode array from Littelfuse is designed for protecting Controller Area Network (CAN) lines from damage due to ESD, EFT and other over-voltage transients. It can absorb repetitive ESD strikes above the maximum level specified in the IEC61000-4-2 international standard without performance degradation, and safely dissipate 3 A of surge current with very low clamping voltages.
In addition to maximising the reliability of automotive electronics, the part is suitable for use in industrial CAN bus applications that are susceptible to damage due to lightning-induced transients or ESD. It is rated for 200 W peak pulse power, maximum clamping voltage of 36 V at 1 A, and RDYN of 0,7 Ω.
