The KL25Z Freedom Board from Farnell is a low-cost evaluation and development board featuring Freescale’s newest Cortex-M0+ based Kinetis L series MCU (microcontroller). The MCU in question features 128 KB Flash memory, 16 KB SRAM and a USB Full-speed controller, and operates at up to 48 MHz.
The board supports the sophisticated OpenSDA USB debug interface and includes onboard features such as a tri-colour LED, a capacitive touch slider, a reset button and a Freescale MMA8451Q accelerometer.
Power can be supplied via either onboard USB connector or a coin cell battery (optional). 5–9 V Vin is obtained from the IO header, while 5 V is provided to the header and 3,3 V can be sent to or from the IO header.
The expansion IO form factor accepts peripherals designed for Arduino-compatible hardware.
