WL Gore & Associates’ GORE-SHIELD GS 500 is a non-military grade strip gasket which allows design engineers the opportunity to develop and prototype their own EMI gaskets with low fuss and cost. It also provides a solution to retrofitting problems and for field repairing damaged gaskets.
Available from stock in standard 15 metre rolls, the gasket material has a conductive, pressure sensitive adhesive. To ensure easy installation, joins or corners can be made by simply overlapping the strip or butting the ends together. The soft, conformable nature of GORE-SHIELD will allow any overlaps to compress down to the same cross section as the remainder of the gasket when a load is applied. The thickness of the strip can be increased, if required, by simply adding additional layers. Once the design is complete, custom die-cut shapes can be supplied from CAD files.
Strips cut to length can be supplied as user defined lengths of GORE-SHIELD, which are packaged either as loose pieces or on a continuous roll. The latter consists of individual pieces which can be conveniently peeled off and placed in position using the conductive pressure sensitive adhesive backing.
