Motor and feeder protection for LV and MV environments

The NewFeed Relay from NewElec targets motor and feeder protection in both the LV and MV environment. This relay is a micro-controller-based precision instrument with ANSI protection elements, advanced control features, and switchgear controller logic integrating motor and feeder control functions. These functions include prestart, close command execution time, and continuous breaker state monitoring with load current feedback to detect unauthorised operation or starting, together with breaker failure detection.

A variety of MV and LV current transformer module blocks (CTMB) caters for different current ranges and easy interfacing to higher current and system voltages using interposing current transformers and voltage transformers. The configuration software caters for the full isolation as well as flexible range settings.

The current transformers module interfaces with the main current and voltage transformers, and make for a flexible and robust interface. An external core balance current transformer caters for sensitive earth leakage detection.
