EMI filters

27 April 2011 Circuit & System Protection

Spectrum’s ‘Advanced Specialty Products’ division has added to the company’s 9900 series of EMI filters several new models with higher capacitance than previously available - up to 1,2 μF.

The new parts use 10 mm mounting instead of 3,25 mm and feature a glass seal on one end to provide protection from hostile environments and maintain hermeticity. They offer EMI filtering from 500 kHz up to 10 Ghz at 15 A current rating, for voltages up to 400 V d.c. and 125 V a.c./400 Hz. Their high-temperature construction withstands 300°C installation temperatures and they are designed to be soldered into a package, bracket or bulkhead.

The filters are targeted at low- to medium-impedance circuits where large amounts of capacitance to ground can be tolerated (feed-through ‘C’ circuit). Special lead lengths and end terminations are available.
