Maxim’s new MAX4885E is a 1:2 VGA multiplexer that switches between two VGA ports while maintaining an ultra-low, 6 pF on-capacitance and low, 5 Ω on-resistance for high-bandwidth applications running at up to 1 GHz. Claimed to be the only switch that offers a complete VGA solution for switching and translating R, G, B, DDC and H/V signals, and to deliver double the bandwidth of any existing solution, the device provides extended ±15 kV (human body model) and ±8 kV (contact discharge) ESD protection. The IC’s advanced integration makes it a suitable choice for notebook PCs, servers and consumer video applications. The MAX4885E operates from a single, 2,0 V to 5,0 V supply, and is fully specified over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range. It is available in a 4 x 4 mm, 24-pin TQFN package.
