The ERmet protective covers from Erni are designed to prevent the prealignment guides from breaking on 2 mm hard metric right angle and vertical female connectors. This line of connectors supports board-to-backplane applications and is specifically targeted for use in telecom and datacom equipment, peripherals, test applications, and networking industry segments.
Protective covers can be inserted over the mating area of a 2 mm connector after it is assembled into the board and then removed at final system integration. They are manufactured to be used with any A, AB, D, DE module that meets the IEC 61076-4-101 specification.
Currently available in bright yellow and bright blue PBT anti-static plastic for easy recognition, the covers are designed for 5+2, and 8+2 female connectors with or without shields.
