EPCOS is widening its range of EMC filters. The company's tried-and-tested SIFI family has now been joined by the new SIFI-G types. This makes up a cost-optimised modular line of six series altogether.
The enlarged SIFI family of two-line filters designed for 250 V a.c. now covers the current range from 1 to 36 A. It is targeted at general EMC applications in power supplies, medical engineering, industrial electronics, telecom (base stations, central offices), and data systems.
Available with various insertion losses and terminal options, the filters have low leakage current. The new SIFI-G types complement the SIFI-B series in particular. They feature a current range extended to 36 A, screw-terminal variants for types rated from 20 A, a climate category to EN 60068-1 extended to 25/100/21, and reduced dimensions in some types. The filters rated at 16 A are compatible with case type B. UL/CSA and ENEC approval is pending.
