Low cost per port integrated Gigabit connector jacks

2 July 2003 Interconnection

Halo is offering a new line of Gigabit FastJack integrated connectors. This family has an enhanced design that provides improved return loss and low cost in a real-estate-efficient connector package, according to the manufacturer.

Gigabit FastJacks are now available in 'single', 'ganged' and 'stacked and ganged' versions. This robust family provides an increase of as much as -3 dB return loss performance over the 1-125 MHz frequency range. This improved performance enables customers to extend their port distances to well beyond the 100 m specified by IEEE. The cost per port of the Gigabit FastJacks is less than the cost of a traditional discrete circuit, claims the manufacturer, making this the most cost-effective solution for both DTE and switch applications.
