Clear conductive electromagnetic shielding film

8 April 2015 Circuit & System Protection

ARC Technologies’ clear conductive electromagnetic shielding – AC&$178;ES - is an advanced, optically clear, transparent, thin-film conductor.

Is it a robust, ultra thin, flexible film that incorporates conductive silver nano-particles and a low-cost direct replacement for indium tin oxide (ITO) films. This material is highly conductive and has a high transparency of 73% – 80% T.

The shielding effectiveness of AC²ES film is 20 – 40 dB and has been demonstrated in testing up to 18 GHz. The material has an ultra-thin coating of 5 - 20 μm (less PET carrier), is transparent to infrared wavelengths, is 3D mouldable and is also compatible with in-mould casting-injection moulding. Additional shapes can be created by vacuum forming or thermoforming.

Supplied in sheets or rolls, the film can be used in consumer and industrial grade applications. Some of these include transparent antenna patterning, wearable electronics, EMI shielding, touch functions and RFID tags. It is compatible with other adhesive systems including various epoxy and polyurethane materials, and select cyanoacrylates.
