Indium introduces new hand soldering, rework flux

Indium has released TACFlux 571HF, a new no-clean, halogen-free flux formulated for both hand soldering and rework.

TACFlux 571HF joins Indium’s versatile offering of specialty fluxes designed to provide solutions for current and evolving industry challenges. Compatible with typical lead-free (SAC), as well as low-temperature bismuth- and indium-containing alloys for PCB assembly applications, benefits include:

• Halogen-free per IEC 61249-2-21 test method EN14582.

• Clear post-reflow flux residue for no-clean applications.

• Shelf life of up to one year.

Over and above the new 571HF formulation, the TACFlux range includes no-clean, water-wash and RMA-based fluxes. Its many uses include rework and repair of various electronics assemblies and components, SMT component attach (including BGAs and flip-chips), BGA ball-attach, preform soldering and virtually any application where a flux is required. Cycle times are not critical as TACFlux may sit for hours with no reflow degradation.
