Silicon Storage Technology’s (SST) NANDrive high-performance, fully integrated, embedded Flash solid-state drive was selected by Design News magazine as a winner of the 2008 Golden Mousetrap award in the embedded computing subcategory.
For over two decades, the Design News awards programme has recognised engineering innovation and creativity in product design. This year, awards were given in four major categories: Electronics, Motion Control/Automation, Hardware/Software, Materials/Fastening/Joining/Assembly, and 24 subcategories.
NANDrive contains an integrated ATA controller and NAND Flash die in a multichip package and is designed for data storage in embedded or portable applications. It has built in microcontroller and file management firmware that communicates with ATA-standard interfaces, so the NANDrive does not require additional or proprietary host software such as Flash File System or Memory Technology Driver software. NANDrive products are available in capacities ranging from 512 MB to 8 GB and support industrial temperature ranges.
