Pulse has announced it has formed a group dedicated to developing and supporting a broad range of off-the-shelf electronic components for the cable market. Demand for Internet, telephony, home shopping, video-on-demand and other interactive services are driving rapid growth in this technology.
The company says its new Cable Products Group will focus development efforts on products to support the accelerating deployment of hybrid fibre-coax (HFC) networks and demand for cable access equipment. Pulse has been a long-time supplier to the equipment manufacturers within these industries.
The formation of the Cable Products Group is intended to intensify the development of radio frequency (RF) transformers, filter modules, splitter/combiners and directional couplers to provide unique application solutions for set-top boxes, cable modems, bridgers, amplifiers, taps and other service equipment provided by cable companies.
"Forecasts by Cahners and IDC indicate exponential growth for several segments of this market for the near term. We feel we are the only worldwide magnetics company that can support all aspects of the broadband access market," said Paul Fadlovich, Senior Product Manager of this new group. "The formation of Pulse's Cable Products Group provides dedicated resources to develop new products, enhancing Pulse's commitment to this market."
Pulse designs and manufactures a complete line of passive components and modules for use in power, telecom and datacom applications matched to OEM products. The company has manufacturing facilities in the Far East, US and Europe.
