Following the launch of RECOM’s 90W step-shape module in 36 mm the REFIN2U-S90/24/CL,
RECOM is extending its REFIN family with the new REFIN2U-S30. The latest addition brings the same 2U-width, step-shape DIN rail concept at reduced cost to lower power applications and addresses space-constrained flat-panel distribution boards, particularly in home and building automation systems. The REFIN2U-S30 is available with nominal 12 V DC and 24 V DC outputs and delivers 30 W continuous power. The units operate from a wide 85 – 305 V AC input range and offer output adjustment ranges of 10,8 to 13,2 V DC and 21,6 to 26,4 V DC respectively.Typical efficiency reaches up to 90%, while no-load power consumption is below 100 mW.
With a width of just 36 mm and overall dimensions of 36 x 94 x 55 mm, the new series is intended for installations where distribution space is limited. The parts use spring-loaded push-in terminals for solid or stranded wires, enabling tool-less connection without ferrules. Rear mounting flaps also allow direct back-panel installation in any orientation, even without a DIN rail. The REFIN2U-S30 is specified for 30W output from -40°C to +55°C globally and can operate up to +90°C ambient with derating. Protection functions include short-circuit, over-current and over-voltage protection with hiccup mode and auto-recovery. Reinforced insulation provides 4 kV AC isolation from input to output, while the converters are rated for OVC III operation up to 3000 m altitude and OVC II up to 5000 m.
For system integration, the new parts comply with EN IEC 61204-3 Class B and EN55032 Class B EMC requirements and are certified to UL62368-1, CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 62368-1-19, IEC62368-1 and EN IEC 62368-1. The products are also classified as LPS limited power sources.
