The Stratcon Group of Companies consists of Stratford Engineering and Measurtronic. The latter offers electrical measurement solutions. A decision was recently made to combine the skills and expertise of the two companies, whenever this was likely to be beneficial, to enable relevant markets to be most effectively penetrated.
An example of the way in which this policy is now being implemented is in connection with a powerful new range of digital electrical measurement transducers, recently designed and developed by Measurtronic.
Known as the DTS Product Range, it is a family of digital products providing a full spectrum of instantaneous and integrated electrical measurement parameters. Measurtronic will retain the marketing responsibilities but they will be strongly supported by Pieter Terblanche, currently Manager of the Electrical Division of Stratford Engineering, who will be seconded to Measurtronic to be responsible for sales and service functions.
This system was shown for the very first time at the recent EPEA' 99 exhibition at Gallagher Estate and will also be exhibited in the US. Considerable interest has already been shown in the system says the company. The system is able to be configured entirely by software and is claimed to be very user-friendly.
The combined activities of these two companies will help to meet the expectations recently expressed by the Chairman of the Group, E. J. Stratford, that "The group must look primarily to export markets for sustainable future expansion".
