Mastering the MicroBlaze processor

The MicroBlaze processor is at the centre of many FPGA designs performing heavy lifting for communication, register/IP configuration, or housekeeping. Without these processors, the job of FPGA designer would be even more complex. AMD-Xilinx, together with Adiuvo, will present a webinar on using this processor for your next FPGA design.

In this hands-on workshop, a MicroBlaze solution that will work in Xilinx devices such as Spartan-7/Artix-7 FPGAs, Artix UltraScale+ FPGAs, Zynq-7000 SoCs, and Zynq UltraScale+ SoCs will be created, developed and deployed.

Topics will include:

• Introduction to MicroBlaze – architecture, configurations, and applications.

• MicoBlaze deployment – interfacing with peripherals, clocks, interrupts, safety, configuration, and boot.

• MicroBlaze operating systems – BareMetal / FreeRTOS / PetaLinux, and multi-processor communication with MicroBlaze.

• Hands-on experience with the Spartan-7 SP701 evaluation kit using a BareMetal application.
