Leadless NTC thermistor die suitable for wire bonding

29 June 2022 Power Electronics / Power Management

The new leadless NTC thermistor die from Vishay Semiconductors is a flat chip with bottom and top contacts and a high operating temperature range of -55 to 175°C. The sensor is also resistant to repetitive short periods at higher temperatures up to 200°C, making it ideal for applications in power and automotive systems.

This green, RoHS-compliant thermistor has a response time of three seconds, is highly resistant to mounting conditions and has a high resistance to leaching during the reflow soldering process. The component is suitable for aluminium wire bonding.

It is suitable for high temperature sensing, temperature control and compensation in power semiconductor modules such as IGBTs, MOSFETs and diodes, and inverters in EV or HEV vehicles. They can also be used in IC and semiconductor protection circuitry as well as DC/AC power inverters.
