Ultra low-power temperature sensor

28 February 2022 Analogue, Mixed Signal, LSI

The STS4x is Sensirion’s highly accurate digital temperature sensor series, available with minimal lead times. It is a fully digital, cost-efficient platform that is available in different accuracy classes.

The sensor range features enhanced signal processing, three distinct I2C addresses and communication speeds of up to 1 MHz. The dual-flat no-leads (DFN) package has a footprint of only 1,5 x 1,5 mm2 while retaining a height of 0,5 mm, which allows for easy integration of the STS4x series into various applications. A wide supply voltage range of 1,08 V to 3,6 V and low current consumption of 0,4 µA (for a typical average current at 1 measurement per second) enables battery-driven designs.

Thanks to Sensirion’s CMOSens Technology, the STS4x range benefits from the high-tech engineering of a wide range of sensor components. It is designed for mass production, comes with a high signal-to-noise ratio and high process capability, and is proven to be highly reliable and stable over the long term.

Typical applications include air conditioners, HVAC/appliances, industrial monitoring, smart home applications and consumer electronics/mobile devices.
