Lead Free Production, Under the Microscope

10 September 2003 Technical Literature

This document was commissioned by Vision Engineering, world leaders in the development and manufacture of stereo optical inspection systems. The report explains the basic assembly process for modern printed circuit boards and where changes may occur due to the use of lead-free solder alloys. The scheduled ban on use of lead-based solders is July 2006 - but companies need to prepare for this now. The document (as PDF) can be downloaded from www.visioneng.com//leadfree or contact your local Vision Engineering distributor.
