Strip LEDs a solid-state alternative to neon and incandescent lighting

The Sunbrite Group of Lumex has revealed a continuous, flexible lighting source for signage, decorative lighting and channel letter illumination. Strip LEDs are low-profile, high-intensity lighting sources that contain state-of-the-art LEDs and provide multiple advantages over conventional incandescent or neon lighting in both indoor and outdoor lighting applications. They also facilitate the creation of completely new lighting concepts for architectural, theatre and decorative illumination designs.
Unlike the neon and incandescent light sources they replace, Sunbrite's StripLEDs are solid-state devices which offer an operating life in excess of 100 000 hours. This reduces the need for periodic replacement or maintenance. They also don't generate the high heat levels associated with incandescent bulbs and eliminate the bulky high-voltage power sources required by neon. They consume less power than either incandescent or neon lighting.
Sunbrite StripLEDs provide a brightness level comparable to neon and they are offered in a range of colours. The LEDs have an 85° viewing angle.
