Fast TTL gate logic

12 March 2003 DSP, Micros & Memory

Pericom Semiconductor has added the STX1GT family of single gate logic into its STX SOTiny Gate micro packaging portfolio. These are eight new devices that use advanced CMOS technology to achieve the fastest speeds in the industry. The devices include the TTL logic input level that allows for 3 to 5 V translation. In addition, they incorporate a Power-Down High-Impedance feature into the outputs that can support 'live insertion'. Gate logic is often placed into complex board designs to simplify the design or create a 'quick-fix' solution at low cost rather than re-engineering. Voltage translation (level shifting) is often needed when interfacing newer peripherals to legacy electronics. Encapsulated in very small SOT-23 and SC70 packaging, these devices offer speeds of 2,5 ns (typ) and balanced output drive of ±8 mA.
