Linear Technology's LTC3832 is a high efficiency step-down DC/DC controller for converting inputs from 3 to 8 V to an output as low as 0,6 V up to 15 A. It provides a very low output voltage with ±1% accuracy to power new generation logic ICs such as DSPs and network processors. Powerful MOSFET drivers operate synchronously to provide operating efficiencies as high as 95% over a wide range of load currents. Because the LTC3832 operates from supplies as low as 3 V and provides its own MOSFET gate drive voltage, the need for an auxiliary voltage supply is eliminated. Operating frequency is adjustable from 100 to 500 kHz. The IC requires no sense resistor for current limiting, and output regulation of 1% is guaranteed over line, load and temperature variations. Comes in 8-pin SO and 16-pin SSOP.
