UK company Milmega, recently debuted the RFCalc, a free downloadable software calculator specifically designed for RF engineers.
The company says RFCalc incorporates all the functions one would expect to find in a 'Microsoft Windows' type calculator with a multitude of features and functions which RF engineers use every day.
Along with typical functions such as: watts (dBm); VSWR (return loss); reflection co-efficient (VSWR); power transmitted and reflected due to VSWR; wavelength/frequency; etc. There are also handy keypad entries such as: velocity of light; Boltsman's constant; electron charge; relative permeability and permittivity of free space.
Additional tools are: RF component properties (inductors, capacitors and resonators); attenuator/pad calculator; RF system calculator; scientific database; 491 constants from Absolute Entropy to Zero Absolute; 90 resistivities from Alumel to Zirconium; 96 dielectric values from Alkyd resin to Yellow Poplar.
