High-performance 16-bit DSP targets cost-sensitive consumer applications

12 February 2003 DSP, Micros & Memory

The ADSP-21532 is a low cost member of Analog Devices' Blackfin DSP family. These are high-performance DSPs based on the Micro Signal Architecture (MSA). Delivering 300 MHz, or 600MMACs of performance to cost-sensitive consumer applications, the ADSP-21532 extends the benefits of dynamic power management by integrating on-chip voltage regulation to simplify board design and reduce total system costs.

With a 16-bit fixed-point DSP core the ADSP-21532 has 48 KB of L1 instruction memory SRAM/Cache, 32 KB of L1 instruction memory ROM, 32 KB of L1 data memory SRAM/Cache, and 4 KB of L1 scratchpad SRAM. The enhanced media instructions of the MSA enable the ADSP-21532 to efficiently process audio, image, and video information in advanced multimedia applications.

This DSP device has on-chip voltage regulation from 2,25 to 3,6 V input, comes in 160-lead Mini-BGA package, and is rated for -25 to +105°C case temperature range.
