Quantum Research's QT300 family QProx programmable capacitive ICs are suitable for touch, proximity, fluid, and material sensing. They can project sense fields through up to 100 mm of insulation or air. There are four devices in the series and all are 8-pin SOIC or DIP. These ICs can be user-programmed using a simple serial interface to adapt them to virtually any application without customisation charges. All have an internal EEPROM that stores user programming permanently. A wide variety of parameters can be altered including sensitivity, sample rate, calibration method, drift compensation, output polarity, and more.
QT300/QT301 for material sensing:
QT300 is a 1-channel sensor IC with UART and SPI communications for high speed data transfer of 16 bit signals. QT301 offers the same features, but with PWM output, and is easily calibrated for offset and span. Applications include: fluid level, distance gauging, proximity, pressure sensing (with transducer), moisture sensing, and contamination sensing for consumer, automotive, and industrial applications.
QT310 for material and touch sensing:
1-channel sensor IC with a discrete output and three types of self-calibration including 'learn by example'. This device can be user-programmed in thousands of combinations of features and performance. It can emulate most parts in our QT110 family. Applications include: touch controls, point fluid level sensing, object and limit sensing, for consumer, automotive, and industrial applications.
QT320:
Two channels of touch sensing in one 8-pin package. A versatile part usable for general switch replacement. Applications include: touch sensing in control panels, keypads, and power switches in consumer goods and industrial controls.
