Agilent claims that its new E8267C PSG vector signal generator features the industry's first microwave signal generator to provide vector modulation up to 20 GHz (from 250 kHz) in a single, integrated instrument. The PSG vector signal generator's arbitrary waveform generator and I/Q modulation capability enables the creation of complex waveforms for a variety of microwave applications.
Intended for design and manufacturing engineers in aerospace, defence, satellite communications, and broadband wireless, Agilent says the E8267C PSG is the only microwave signal generator offering wideband vector modulation in a single, integrated instrument. The PSG vector signal generator features an internal, dual-mode baseband generator that combines the capabilities of a wideband (80 MHz) arbitrary waveform generator with the sophisticated coding power of a realtime baseband generator. This capability sets new points of reference for straightforward, repeatable microwave communications signal generation and enables engineers to solve many of the problems they experience today when testing components to full system tests.
Other features: optional dual-mode internal baseband generator; external I/Q inputs achieve 160 MHz of RF modulation bandwidth; optional wideband I/Q inputs with uncalibrated RF modulation bandwith of 1 GHz; 32 Msample (160 MB) memory for waveform playback and 1,2 Gsample (6 GB) memory for waveform storage; modulation formats QAM, PSK, MSK, FSK, and Custom I/Q; output power (+18 dBm) and phase noise (optional SSB phase noise, less than -98 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset at 10 GHz carrier).
