TDK Semiconductor is introducing a new highly integrated dual-phase power meter IC designed for low cost two-wire and three-wire residential metering applications. The 71M6510 supports IEC687 (indirectly connected meters) and IEC1036 (directly connected meters).
The chip has an integrated 8051 controller; integrated LCD driver; on-chip 1,5 V reference; autonomous operation; battery backup; realtime clock (RTC); measures Wh, VARh, V2h, A2h; Hz (single phase only); and uses low power (30 mW).
